Rune Skull Pendants
Cast in bronze, these skull medallions measure roughly 1” in height, and each bears a rune from the Elder Futhark on it’s forehead. A small bail has been soldered on the back, through which runs a 22” leatherette cord with a small chain extender.
Elder Futhark is the oldest documented runic alphabet, often called the Norse Runes. 24 in all, they are often used in divination, carved in bones or wood and drawn while asking a question. When used in this way, each character represents a concept, and they are often worn or carried individually as a charm or talisman to hold those concepts close.
Please note: these pendants are made by hand. As such they may vary slightly from the examples shown.
Care Instructions
Bronze is a copper alloy. As such, it can develop a darkened patina over time. To restore the original shine, for best results use a jewelry polishing cloth. Use of an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner or abrasive solutions such as Barkeep’s Friend may remove the black color used to add contrast and is ill-advised. You may also seal the pendant with Renaissance Wax or Protectaclear self-leveling sealant, which we have found to be very durable.
